Lloyds Bank has been showing it's adverts lately about the big moments, so here's one of mine!
Last year was a year of moments that mattered.
Like Max starting to sleep through the night, starting school (and enjoying it!), my big 8 year old boy getting that much more independent, as kids are wont to do when they get to that age.
I think the biggest moment that mattered for me last year took place at the end of August.
Max came up to me, looked at me with his head to one side, and then out it came:
Both the name and the signing.
My wee non-verbal boy came up of his own accord, completely unprompted, and called me Mummy.
It took until he was 5 years and 10 months old.
Not in front of him, obviously, but once he had dondered back to what he was doing, I started to cry.
And I mean *really* cry. Big massive ugly snotty crying.
I called my parents to tell them.
They couldn't understand what I was saying at first.
I managed to tell them between the sobs.
They were so pleased.
My mum cried.
I would have shouted it from the rooftops if I could have.
That was my best moment of 2013, without a shadow of a doubt.
What was yours?
