Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Happy New Year everyone!

The boys have been at their dad's since Friday, so I've been enjoying long (loooong!) lies, going out with friends, and my first Hogmanay out since the year before I got pregnant with Zack (that would be Dec 31st 2003)!

After a weekend of drinkies with friends, a trip to the cinema (yay! The Hobbit! Awesome!), and sleeping until around 3am, I decided to take myself on a trip to Glasgow yesterday morning.

I haven't been there since 2007, and then it was just a fleeting visit to pick up a friend from the airport, so it was definitely a long time coming!

I was on the bus by 7am, and the train to Glasgow by 8.15am. An hour later I was in Glasgow, and I made a bit of a bee-line to the Apple store.

What can I say? I'm a fangirl. You know that, right? What a huge, yet minimalistic place!

The staff are all so friendly and attentive.

One came up to me, asking if I needed any help, and I explained that I hadn't been in an Apple store before, so he gave me a guided tour!

Honestly, I was in my element. If there was one place I'd LOVE to work, it'd be there. Honestly, I really hope they open up one closer to Crieff so I genuinely could work for them when the boys are older!

And after I'd left, I checked the card he'd given me, to find that his last name is Muir, too. Random!

Of course, I couldn't be in the city centre without going to visit the Gallery of Modern Art, just beside George Square.

I remember looking up at this in wonder, when I was little. So pretty, and SO high up! I wasn't sure if maybe it would seem smaller, now that I'm grown up, but it's still just as wonderful as when I was there as a little one.

And, of course, Then there was Hogmanay, as we call New Year's Eve here in Scotland.

A big party, with a pipe band, and hoards of people joining together to bring in the new year in our wee town square.

That would be where we bumped into this happy little clan... obviously!

My sweet friends and I brought in the bells with half of Crieff, and then proceeded down to mine to chat into the wee hours of the morning, put the world to rights, and eat far too many chips with cheese.

Start as you mean to go on, am I right?

I get my gorgeous boys back tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to having my cuddles again, those smiling faces grinning at me first thing in the morning (ugh, ok it's not the best, with it being the wee early hours but still, you can't *not* smile back when they're grinning at you, you know?). Having everyone back at home, and life will return to normal. Well... normal for us at least!

So here's to 2013 being a better year.

I'm not gonna lie when I say 2012 wasn't exactly peachy, but we all got through it, and I'm determined to kick butt this year!

I hope you've all had a brilliant time during the holidays, at least one with more ups than downs, more good memories than bad.

Because at the end of the day, it's the good memories that make it all worth while, isn't it?

Time to kick some ass!!
