This little man of mine has been leaving me awestruck and amazed on a daily basis since starting school.
Every day, we walk to school and he's desperate to get there, desperate to get into his playground, just like the other kids.
Every day, he runs off as soon as we get to the top of the wee hill that leads to what has quickly become his new normal.
Every day, he runs around the playground with his peers, smiling and saying "hello!" with gusto.
Every day, the school bell rings and he goes to line up to wait for his teacher. He doesn't always stay in the one place, but we're getting there.
And every single day, he's buzzing with the excitement of seeing his teachers and getting to go into school and start his day.
We're at the end of week three, and his times have already moved up once as he's been managing school so well.
Assuming all goes well at the beginning of next week, the time will increase AGAIN on Wednesday.
He's adoring his visually structured day, peppered with tasks that he knows, and some that are new.
He's actually learning new things like all the other kids are.
He's reading the Oxford Reading Tree books about Biff, Chip and Kipper.
He's counting up to ten and understanding that they relate to a number of objects.
He's even started to try to write his name, and draw little stick figures on our blackboard in the kitchen!
This little man of mine is amazing me every single day.
Every single day!
What amazes you about your kids?
I'd love to hear about them in your comments!
Here's to a happy (or at least bearable!) weekend for all of us.
