These eyes that 4 years ago were glazed over, looking but not really seeing.
These eyes now dance with joy, with happiness, with laughter.
They show me that he knows when he's been naughty, and is upset,
but mostly they show the sly cheeky looks he gives me with a grin when he's stolen my seat.
Or the sheer amazement and relief when he knows I understand what he's saying.
They show me that he's so much more than his diagnosis of autism.
He is a person.
An amazing, whole, fantastic person who laughs and cries and shows me his soul through his eyes.
Different, not less.
Damn I love these eyes.
