Just because I haven’t been picking up my camera as much over the icky weather doesn’t mean I don’t still have plenty I could do!
Here’s a photo I took almost 2 years ago, when Max was 5 months old. SOOC:
It’s pretty dark, although his eyes are actually in focus (!!!). He’s got some scratches on his face, and the writing on the bottle bothers me…
So… I did this:
I lightened up the whole photo using curves.
Then I made the eyes pop (thank you Clickin Moms for a tutorial about that… I heart you!).
I played about with a few OTSS actions till I decided on this one, Vanilla Coffee from the Fall in Love set.
I cloned out the Tommee Tippee logo as it was distracting me…
and last but not least I cropped and sharpened for web.
*****
The whole process took about 15 minutes.
For me that’s pretty good, considering I don’t have a clue what I’m doing most days!
I had loads of fun choosing a photo back from my archives… I don’t do it often enough!
When was the last time you had a look in yours? I challenge you to find an old photo you didn’t do much with and see what you can come up with in photoshop, it’s a great way to get out of a slump.
Hope you all had a good weekend!

Jim and I used Photoshop to sharpen up the photo of Kata Tjuta I used as the new header on my blog. I was amazed at what we could to heighten the contrast and bring out the colors. I had no idea.

It was pretty dang good to start with but I love the edit – if I delved into the black hole that is my “archive” I might never be seen again…

Barbara´s last blog ..She Wants To Be A Train
Thanks sweety! I never liked Gimp… but maybe that’s cause I started with photoshop ele? Plus there are a TON of tutorials for PS and PSE whereas there aren’t as many for gimp. >_<

Thanks Callista, it’s a great thing to improve photos with. Photoshop Elements will do everything I did there, other than the curves thing, but there are other ways of brightening photos anyway.
