No, seriously… SERIOUSLY???

So the other day I went to see my parents as my mum hasn’t been feeling well at all. Wanted to cheer her up a bit. So over I went, with sausage rolls and cakes from the bakery. I dropped off Zack at nursery and Deano was looking after a (sleeping) Max, so we got some chill out time.

My blog was brought up (probably something to do with pictures on it) and my mum comes out with… “could you not use the f word in your blog please? Couldn’t you just do it like F*** or something instead? I don’t like it”.

Seriously.

SERIOUSLY.

I was like what? the? hell??

My dad in the kitchen was saying it was a “fuckin disgrace, there’s no need for it”… and actually being serious, not realising he was swearing as he said it.

For once in my life I stood up to them about something.

It’s *my* blog, to write about how I feel about things, so I will write how I please on it.

I said that if they don’t like it then, sorry, but don’t read it.

Mum swiftly changed the subject as she could tell that Dad and I could have got into a roaring argument about it.

Seriously…

Who the hell tries to tell their 25 year old daughter who has two children and (almost) a divorce under her belt not to fucking swear???

What! The! FUCK!

(yes I said fuck… fuck fuck fuckity FUCK FUCK).

I already felt that I couldn’t write what I wanted on my old blog when I split from Twatface cause his whole family know the address for it.

Now I feel like I really can’t be myself without offending someone.

So that’s it.

A Little Space for Me will become a place with random updates on the boys and pics of them and that’s it.

Everything else? That’ll be here.

Fuck it.

I’m sick of being fucking censored.

No more.

I’ll fucking well swear as much as I fucking want. So there.

;)

  3. Ha-fucking-ha sorry – it doesn’t get any better. I’m 42 and not only am I not allowed to swear but my mum has actually said to me on numerous occasions “you are NOT getting a dog”.

    W.T.F.?

Immediately followed by “get a dog if you want” like she’s giving me permission for something I don’t NEED her permission for

It’s no wonder I can barely make a decision for myself. Laughing aside it seriously fucks you up constantly having anything you choose to say/do/think scrutinised, criticised and ridiculed. Sometimes I stand in the kitchen at night and can barely answer when my kids ask me what’s for tea.

  4. Yep, I get that one too – like it’s down to them whether I do or don’t do something (I do want a puppy, but i know i cant have one as they cost so much, but i want one anyway…).

Honestly, I love my parents to bits but they can be sooooo demeaning with their telling me what i can and can’t do all the time!

  5. As a wise person once told me “Fuck the fucking fuckers”

No I can understand. I’m not even sure I know what post they might be referencing nor should it be an issue. Curse all you want as long as it makes sense to you or you feel it’s appropriate.

  7. Say what the FUCK you like! My Mum doesn’t like me using the word crap even :/ I think it’s a generation thing. It’s also a “Mum” thing. I have a feeling I’ll be shocked the first time I see my son swear in print. He’s 15 now – its getting harder all the time. Deep down we’re all someone’s baby. :) Even my Mum is – her Mum is 90, she’s 66 and still gets it :S

  8. Well, this has certainly bought out the fruitier language from your commenters!! Not wishing to miss the party, it’s your blog, say whatever the fuck you like. You’re a big girl now and it’s up to you to live your life as you see fit. That includes the language you choose to use.

  9. The only problems I had when Mum was reading my blog was knowing that if I wrote about her cancer I would make her cry. I also couldn’t write about how devastated her cancer made me feel because then it made Mum feel really guilty that she was causing Vonnie and I so much pain.

I understand how you feel about not being able to write what you want on your own blog though. Family that I don’t like read my blog and I really need to “write out” the stress that they are causing me but it isn’t worth the fall out. and I really cant be bothered with them. I think this is one of the reasons that Vonnie is poking the idiots over at Poopy peeps because no matter what those trolls do it cant hurt her like my brother did.

The language is a generational thing. I wouldn’t say fuck in front of my grand mother. and at the end of the day why bother antagonising people over a silly fucking swear word any way.

But for fucks sake keep this blog quiet sweety or you will have to start again lol xox
