Staying there wasn't an option because that would put you under the thumbs of your ex and his parents. And the impression I got was his parents weren't good to deal with before all that happened anyways. I know it can be trying being away from readily available friends but new friends will come along and the good friends will keep in contact. Can't say much on the shopping though =P.
