    I Never Thought....

    I'd love weekends so much!

In the past, weekends are the only times when the kids were at home the WHOLE time which, to be honest, drove me mad!

However, now that I'm officially part of the School Run Mums Club, I am relishing being able to be lazy in the mornings at weekends, even if it is coloured with constant attention seeking from my oldest, and happy squeals/screeches from the lil man!

Of course, I though that I may actually get to sleep a little later today. 7.30am on the dot I woke up. Both kids still asleep. ARGH!

Needless to say I *had* to get up to go to the loo (damn kids making my bladder weaker...), and by the time I'd done that, Zack was wide awake. So much for some quiet time before he was awake then huh?

I have figured out that so long as I'm in bed by 11pm every night, I am mostly alert and awake enough in the morning to not feel like a zombie, which is a good thing. But... goddammit I'm a night owl! I don't LIKE going to bed so early and missing out on me-time. I love staying up as late as can be to squeeze every minute of child-free time I get! 1am... 2am... sometimes even 3am. They're normal bedtimes for me, not 11pm! *sigh* I guess it's just the inevitable huh?

I'm looking forward to one day being a pensioner who can sleep when she wants and do what she likes. Since that's still about 40 years away though, I'd better just get on with what's going on right now rather than whiling away my days thinking about the future.

I'm all ready with the Sunday Snippets for tomorrow... I hope you are! The last few weeks have been missed as we've had so much going on, but I have loads to tell you, so I'll see you then, and hopefully you can tell me some of your Sunday Snippets too! :)

Sunday Snippets....*Must Remember* (Note to self)

I'm with you on the not-going-to-bed-early part.

Emily is in bed by 8. Once I do a quick clean up and my homework...well there isn't a lot of time left for me to cruise between facebook, twitter, blogs and email. I think routine is the key though, and keeps me happy.

I am for 11pm too, funny that. :-)

Also I think getting up ready for the school run is a good thing, I try to get up early (It's hard at the moment as we are in job limbo and have no school run...yet) then appreciate the weekends more...well more so the chance to stay in my pyjamas all day and get away with it.

Congrats on being a school run mum...do you know other parents at the school? :-D

I'm actually loving having a more structured routine in general, just not the early bedtime/morning bit! LOL
I know some of the other mums from kids that went to nursery too, so always got someone to say hi to. :)

Oh, I know exactly where you're coming from! I dearly LOVE to stay up late! I watch all the late night shows with half an eye while reading, in bed, with John asleep beside me. He swears he can't go to sleep unless I'm sitting there reading. He's a strange one. ;-)

I am a night owl too, though not as late as you. I am dreading the school run beginning next week, no idea how I am going to get three children up and get us out on a schedule! All mine sleep late, to maybe 10.30am so I have been really spoiled all summer! Jen

I fully intend to make the absolute MOST out of holidays this year... I have never held them in such high regard as the thought of lazy mornings sets in already... 6 weeks till October hols! ;)

Max sleeps till about then too, which is blissful, and Zack, well he is happy to sneak downstairs and play the Wii quietly when he wakes, so I get to sleep in. ;)

I know this feeling well... I feel it everyday! I too like to maximise my kid free time at night but wake up feeling exhausted. But I still do it sometimes.

Thank goodness it's not just me then! LOL
