    So Now He's Saying Please...

Max is definitely coming on with the pointing and saying 'peeez' for things.

    Which is beyond awesome!

However... what about those times he points and asks, and isn't allowed what he wants?

Today, I got the most GORGEOUS present from the lovely Ben at Appliances Online.

It seems he'd been stalking me (well, I am awesome, it's not his fault!), and had heard about my absolute NEED for a decent cupcake, so he sent me this gorgeous set.

We're hoping to try it out this weekend!

Max's eyes fixed on it when he first saw it this morning after dropping off Zack from nursery.

He saw the picture of cupcakes.

He knew that they would be damn tasty.

    He wanted them.

I tried to show him that, in fact, there were no cakes in the box, but he still wanted it.

    Sorry little guy, NO chance.

    Commence screaming.

After he eventually calmed down, and was in another room, I moved the box to above the fridge freezer. It's so high up, there's no way he could see it surely?

    HA!

    Yeah right.

About 10 minutes after we got home from picking up Zack from school, he was pulling me through to the kitchen.

Pointing and saying/signing 'peeez' over and over again. At the fridge freezer.

So, he knows now that if he wants something, he has to point and say please...

    RESULT!

Unfortunately, he still doesn't understand that he can't get everything he wants.

I just hope he doesn't stop saying please because he doesn't always get his own way...

Oh, also? If I were you, I'd leave some comments on this post... you never know who might be watching! ;)

hehehe, I put things on top of the fridge freezer too and so far it has worked and the little ones don't think to look up there! So cute that he is saying 'peez' bet it melts your heart, even when you have to say no:) Jen

I guess tomorrow is cupcake day chez toi! I shall come by your house to sniff the air and if the cupcakes smell good you may just get a surprise visitor. The box looks great by the way. xxx

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

Indeed! I will try to save one for you and dad... well, maybe two. Making you share one would be cruel! :) xx

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

Oh yes, a VERY proud mama! He's even trying to call me "mum" and "mummeee" loads too! :D

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

Hehe well even the chairs can't reach up there - he's already tried it! LOL :) I will post pics when I do them... just a warning!

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

Oh yes, SO happy! Of course with these leaps and bounds come more tears and tantrums, but they don't last as long now as they used to!
I'm very intrigued now at what you hide on top of yours! :P

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

    *nods head vigorously in agreement*

That is EXACTLY what Max is like too! >_<

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

They're not too expensive either... check out firebox.com. ;) x

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

Ah but tears and tantrums are a big part of any 3 year old , its so hard at that age when want to and should be able to communicate but cannot (been there with Becs, sure not the autism side but the wanting but not able to talk park)

Fridge stuff is not a big deal , not stuff i can really say out in the open like this lol

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLaura McIntyre

Very true! I won't pester you about the on the fridge stuff... ;)

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

If I could have gotten away with just one I'd have done it, but he's a hoarder/stacker, he'd not have been happy unless he had the lot! >_<

    November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

Well done for Max, I hope he sticks with it even once he realises it's not fool-proof!

You are such a lucky girl to get that kit, it's gorgeous :) One of my girlfriends made the most amazing triple chocolate cupcakes with chocolate mouse topping the other day. Divine! If I can pry the recipe out of her I'll send it your way.

Must be hard not giving in to such a cutie. LOL. Good on him for learning the P word! It never gets old - still works for me and I'm thirty-ten years old. :-)

November 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterHim Up North

Oooh yum, that sounds delish! :)

    November 28, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMarylin

It is indeed! I will keep that in mind... at least I can't see puppy-dog eyes through the internet, it's bad enough with the kids! :P

We were warned to remove anything from the house that we did not want the boys requesting for the first month until we has worked on refusals a bit more. But you can't help having an admirer! Nice book. Get that teleporter working so you can teach me the proper way to have a cupcake.
